I came across this old account and felt that it helped to explain some of the new healing modalities. With a unified effort an approach like this could change the world.

The Two Effects of Thought

Each definite thought produces a double effect—a radiating vibration and a floating form. The thought itself appears first to clairvoyant sight as a vibration in the mental body, and this may be either simple or complex. If the thought itself is absolutely simple, there is only the one rate of vibration, and only one type of mental matter will be strongly affected. The mental body is composed of matter of several degrees of density, which we commonly arrange in classes according to the sub-planes. Of each of these we have many sub-divisions, and if we typify these by drawing horizontal lines to indicate the different degrees of density, there is another arrangement which we might symbolize by drawing perpendicular lines at right angles to the others, to denote types which differ in quality as well as in density. There are thus many varieties of this mental matter, and it is found that each one of these has its own especial and appropriate rate of vibration, to which it seems most accustomed, so that it very readily responds to it, and tends to return to it as soon as possible when it has been forced away from it by some strong rush of thought or feeling.

Taino Seek Recognition
Puerto Rican Tainos were nearly wiped out after arrival of the Spanish.
The chief, or Cacike, of the Tainos in Puerto Rico hopes Puerto Ricans will regain pride in their native heritage. A people thought to be dead for 500 years hope to prove they're still very much alive, thanks to the 2010 census. The census counts everyone in the United States, including territories like Puerto Rico. Thousands of Puerto Ricans are rediscovering their indigenous heritage and plan to ensure that the U.S. government knows about them.
On Columbus' second voyage, he began to require tribute from the Taínos in Hispaniola. Each adult over 14 years of age was expected to deliver a hawks bell full of gold every three months, or when this was lacking, twenty five pounds of spun cotton. If this tribute was not observed, the Taínos had their hands cut off and were left to bleed to death. This also gave way to a service requirement called encomienda. Under this system, Taínos were required to work for a Spanish land owner for most of the year, which left little time to tend to their own community affairs.

Genetically Altered Food

At Cosmic Acres Firewalker and Greywolf believe in the need for Naturally grown food staples and the preservation of Heritage seed. We think that organic agriculture in localized pockets be economically viable for individuals and produce employment. As well we hold that this produces better health and environmental conditions.
We feel that thousands of years of specific diets leave the human system in need of certain non-modified foods. Alterations to this dependence lead to un-wanted physical and mental effects upon the human organism. We also feel that different cultures may very well have different dietary needs and that this should be given more attention. This of course applies to the animal kingdom as much as it does to humankind.
The new genetically altered herbicide resistant and insect resistant crops have been ravaged by super weeds and secondary pests. They have proven to be more of a failure than a success. New research indicates that the GMO’s and pesticides sold by big concerns are detrimental to continuing good health.
A fundamental shift to back to organic farming practices may be the only hope. Let’s consider some of the things that have been happening.

Oil Spill Threatens Australia's Great Barrier Reef
Shen Neng 1, a giant Chinese ship carrying oil and coal ran aground on the Great Barrier Reef Saturday night. Due to reports that the ship was travelling at top speed when it grounded itself, there was concern that the ship would break up, which would complicate the disaster.
Environmental laws bar shipping in the area in order to protect what is the world's largest coral reef, a World Heritage site home to thousands of marine species.
The ship's owner, Shenzhen Energy, a subsidiary of the Chinese shipping giant Cosco, could be fined up to A$1m ($920,000) for straying from a shipping lane used by 6,000 cargo vessels each year. Conservation groups meanwhile have expressed anger that bulk carriers are allowed to travel through the reef without a specialized marine pilot.

Acupuncture
Physical pain is a common occurrence for many people, a national survey found that more than one-quarter of U.S. adults had recently experienced some sort of pain lasting more than a day. World-wide there is suffering from pain night and day. At Cosmic Acres both Firewalker and Greywolf believe that there are alternatives to modern medicine that should be addressed and thoroughly examined for their potential benefits.

In addition to conventional treatments people may try acupuncture as an option for pain relief. According to traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture points are situated on meridians along which qi (a "life energy") flows. Modern acupuncture texts present them as ideas that are useful in clinical practice and continue to inform the practice of acupuncture, but there is no evidence to support their existence and they have not been reconciled with contemporary knowledge about biology, physics or chemistry.
In China, the practice of acupuncture can perhaps be traced as far back as the Stone Age, with the Bian shi, or sharpened stones. In 1963 a bian stone was found in Duolon County, Mongolia, suggestting that the origin of acupuncture dates as far back as the Neolithic age. People have used acupuncture for a variety of pain. Back pain is the most commonly reported use, followed by joint pain, neck pain, and headache. Although Traditional Chinese Medicine based on the treatment of patterns of disharmony instead of a biomedical diagnoses there are practitioners familiar with both systems have who have commented on relationships between the two. A given pattern of disharmony may be reflected in a certain range of biomedical diagnoses: thus, the pattern called Deficiency of Spleen Qi could manifest as chronic fatigue, diarrhea or uterine prolapse.

Geronimo
I was born in No-doyohn Cañon, Arizona, June, 1829.
When a child my mother taught me the legends of our people; taught me of the sun and sky,' the moon and stars, the clouds and storms. She also taught me to kneel and pray to Usen for strength, health, wisdom, and protection. We never prayed against any person. We were taught that Usen does not care for the petty quarrels of men.
In gathering the herbs, in preparing them, and in administering the medicine, as much faith was held in prayer as in the actual effect of the medicine. Usually about eight persons worked together in making medicine, and there were forms of prayer and incantations to attend each stage of the process. Four attended to the incantations and four to the preparation of the herbs.
The Indians knew what herbs to use for medicine, how to prepare them, and how to give the medicine. This they had been taught by Usen in the beginning, and each succeeding generation had men who were skilled in the art of healing.

Reiki
The Five Principles
At least for today:
Do not be angry, Do not worry, Be grateful, Work with diligence, Be kind to people.
Every morning and evening, join your hands in meditation and pray with your heart. State in your mind and chant with your mouth.
Reiki is a healing practice that originated in Japan. Reiki practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above the person receiving treatment, with the goal of facilitating the person's own healing response. In the United States, Reiki is part of complementary and alternative medicine.
The system of Reiki was invented and developed by a man named Mikao Usui inthe early 1900's. Mikao Usui trained a number of teachers in this system. Many of those teachers taught students of their own. There are many lines of Reiki practiced in Japan from these teachers. Usui founded a school there that is said to maintain his original teachings. This school is called the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai.

The Easter Fires
Fire-festivals were at one time held on Easter Eve, the Saturday before Easter Sunday. On that day it has been customary in Catholic countries to extinguish all the lights in the churches, and then to make a new fire, sometimes with flint and steel, sometimes with a burning-glass. At this fire is lit the great Paschal or Easter candle, which is then used to rekindle all the extinguished lights in the church. In many parts of Germany a bonfire is also kindled, by means of the new fire, on some open space near the church. It is consecrated, and the people bring sticks of oak, walnut, and beech, which they char in the fire, and then take home with them. Some of these charred sticks are thereupon burned at home in a newly-kindled fire, with a prayer that God will preserve the homestead from fire, lightning, and hail.

Light Pollution
Astronomy is no longer a simple matter of looking at the night sky.
Astronomy is the scientific study of celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere (such as the cosmic background radiation). It is concerned with the evolution, physics, chemistry, meteorology, and motion of celestial objects, as well as the formation and development of the universe.

Now be cause of nighttime light pollution not only are astronomers effected, but so are other people and the ecosystem.
Awareness of the detrimental effects of light pollution is increasing in Canada worldwide.
Light pollution, also known as photo-pollution or luminous pollution, is excessive or obtrusive artificial light.

Joseph Brant
(Thayendanegea)

A group of huntsmen were camping on the Ohio river. The foliage swayed in the night wind, and the argent light of the moon ran in fleeting bars through the dim recesses of the forest. From the ground arose a ruddier glare. High and dry, fires had been built and the flames were darting and curvetting among the trees. In the weird light the hunters were clustered about in squads, silently stripping their prey or preparing their weapons for the morrow's chase. In the background were the women, moving here and there in the dancing shadows. One was bending low over a newborn infant, and as she uttered his name in the stillness of the evening it blended with the music of the tree-tops.
'Thayendanegea!' [Footnote: Pronounced Tai-yen-da-nay-geh.]
The name was taken from the great book of nature. It was a birth-name of the Mohawks meaning two sticks of wood bound together, a sign of strength; and the woman hoped that her tiny child might one day be a man of valour among the Mohawks. Could she have but known it, her desire was to be more than realized, for in vigour of mind and body he was destined to surpass all the offspring of his race.
